PEARLS

July 17, 2023 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Do you find yourself feeling lonely or isolated or feeling sad most of the day or
angry, frustrated, hopeless, or not interested in any activities or hobbies you once enjoyed or
feel like your feet are “cemented” to the ground or often feel tired or unable to get a good night’s
sleep? These are just some of the symptoms of depression. There is also a correlation between

chronic medical conditions and depression.
Depression is not part of growing older!

DEPRESSION IS TREATABLE. You can do something about it!

What is PEARLS?

It is an evidence based program created by the University of Washington as a Program to
Encourage Active, Rewarding Lives (PEARLS) educates older adults about what depression is
(and is not) and helps them develop the skills they need for self-sufficiency and more active lives.

PEARLS Program is a FREE six weeks course delivered in a group format.

MUST BE 60 yrs. or older, and be able to participate in meaningful and respectful discussions.
