JAMF announces more than $1MM in grants available for 2023

As part of its mission to “Develop successful citizens and vital communities” on the Southern Oregon Coast, the Judith Ann Mogan Foundation (JAMF) looks to distribute, for the third time, more than $1MM in grants to Oregon nonprofits with projects that benefit Coos, Curry, and Coastal Douglas County communities for its 2023 Grant Cycle. JAMF’s third grant cycle will award grants for focused programs, capital expenditures, capacity building efforts, or even some operational expenses. Projects must support one or more of JAMF’s priority areas: Arts & Culture, Children & Youth, Community Health, Convening & Gathering Places, Economic Development, Environment & Natural Resources, and Poverty Alleviation.

Non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable and publicly supported organizations are invited to submit online a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) by May 15, 2023. The LOI is a fillable pre-application form found on the Applicants’ Portal, which will go live March 31. Refer to the Foundation’s webpage at Judith Ann Mogan Foundation (jamoganfoundation.org) for more information.

From the LOI submissions, organizations with projects deemed eligible for grants will be invited to go through an application stage that begins May 31 and ends July 15. If additional information is needed, there will be follow-ups and a possible site visit during the LOI or grant application phase. Grant funds for approved projects will be distributed in October.

In 2021, JAMF distributed awards to 25 organizations for 31 projects. 2022 saw an increase in the number of organizations awarded to 35, benefiting 39 projects. Total grant funding for both years was over $3 million, benefiting the Southern Oregon Coast.

Founded in 2020 through the generosity of Judith Ann Mogan and the Al Peirce Co., LLC, the Judith Ann Mogan Foundation is a private foundation based in Coos Bay, Oregon.
