SCHOOL READINESS
The Head Start approach to school readiness means that children are ready for school, families are ready to support their children’s learning, and schools are ready for children. Head Start is a leader in the early childhood field with a strong, clear, and comprehensive focus on all aspects of healthy development, including physical, cognitive, and social/emotional development, all of which are essential to children getting ready for school.

PARENT INVOLVEMENT
As the 1st and most important teacher, parents are welcome and encouraged to participate in all areas of the program. Parents are decision makers, volunteers, group and committee members. Our parent Policy Council is comprised of parent representatives from each class and is an important part of program planning and development.

At South Coast Head
Start, we believe that
each child deserves an
enriching environment
to learn and grow.
