Judith Ann Mogan Foundation

Detailed Information

The Judith Ann Mogan Foundation was organized as a private foundation in 2020. While it is a new nonprofit organization, its roots in the Southern Oregon Coast go back a long way.

It all started in the 1930s when Al Peirce owned a business that supplied piling materials for the construction of the McCullough Bridge in North Bend, OR. The business quickly grew into a fully integrated lumber, trucking, and shipping company, and was a major employer in the community. In the 1980s, the Al Peirce Lumber Company divested while retaining only its timberlands, and was renamed Al Peirce Co. Under the management of Hilda Peirce and Al and Hilda’s daughter, Judith Ann Mogan, it became a very active contributor to the local community.

In 2020, Al Peirce Co., LLC, through the generosity of Judith Ann Mogan, formed the Judith Ann Mogan Foundation, which will continue the legacy of Al and Hilda Peirce to benefit the Southern Oregon Coast.

The Judith Ann Mogan Foundation (JAMF) awards grants to qualified nonprofits and publicly funded organizations in Oregon that implement programs and projects in the Southern Oregon Coast, particularly in the COOS, CURRY, and COASTAL DOUGLAS counties. At this point, we are only accepting applications from 501(c)(3) organizations, publicly supported organizations, governmental units, schools, and hospitals. Our grant cycle usually opens in the Spring. Nonprofits and publicly funded organizations interested to apply for grants must submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) via the Foundation’s online portal www.jamoganfoundation.org. Please check our website regularly for updates.
