ZONTA CLUB OF THE COOS BAY AREA ANNOUNCES 2021 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

North Bend, OR The Zonta Club of the Coos Bay Area is pleased to announce the 2021 recipients of $15,000 in scholarship funds.

Receiving a $3,000 Science Technology Engineering and Math STEM Scholarship is Skylar Lucas, North Bend. Lucas is pursuing a nursing degree at Southwestern Oregon Community College. Lillian Collins and Robyn Wales both of North Bend, each received a $3,000 Zonta Club Scholarship. Collins is attending Southwestern where she will major in biochemistry and molecular biology. Robyn Wales will enter Oregon State University this fall majoring in biology pre-med. Student Club $1,500 scholarship recipients are Mariia Semenchuk Marshfield and Miranda Seldon North Bend for student leadership and activity while involved in a Z-Club at their high school. Semenchuk will pursue a degree in nursing at Southwestern and Seldon a degree in psychology at UCLA.

The Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Zonta International Scholarship was awarded to Nicole Fossum graduate of Winter Lakes High School Coquille, now of Reedsport. Fossum will enter Portland State this fall pursuing a degree in marketing. Selected to receive The Young Women in Public Affairs Zonta International Award is Jordyn Tippett, a Coquille graduate. Tippett will major in psychology with a minor in business at Western Oregon University. Zonta International scholarship/awards are progressive opportunities with the local awardee being referred onto the Zonta District level to be considered for additional funding.

All recipients were honored and present during a recent Zonta Zoom club meeting.
