Southwestern Oregon Community College wants to be part of the solution!
The SNAP Training and Education Program (STEP) was created and designed to increase economic mobility and expand resources available to low-income students. As part of the Oregon Pathways to Opportunity initiative, along with 16 Oregon community colleges, SWOCC’s STEP is proud to serve the Southcoast community and help individuals plan for, attend, and complete college, and plan for and obtain employment. All services are FREE to SNAP recipients!
Southwestern Oregon Community College’s STEP team is dedicated to helping Coos and Curry County residents reach their education and career goals, and can provide support in many ways:
- GED, Practice and Testing Fees
- Transportation Assistance
- Individualized College and Career Planning
- Financial Aid and Scholarship Navigation
- Tuition Assistance, Textbooks
- Individualized Job Search, Resume, Applications
- Interview and Work Clothing, Tools, Equipment
- And much more!
SWOCC’s STEP is not alone in these efforts and values its partnerships throughout the Southcoast region, all are vital in helping community members overcome barriers to education, employment, and economic mobility in the area. The list is long and we thank all who collaborate and assist us daily!
