The North Bend Public Library will host a book talk with Professor Rebecca J. Dobkins on Tuesday, July 25th at 2:00 PM. Rebecca Dobkins is author of the book, The Art of Ceremony: Voices of Renewal from Indigenous Oregon. In The Art of Ceremony Dobkins provides a contemporary and historical overview of the nine federally recognized tribes in Oregon and through conversations with tribal representatives shares their commitment to continuing ceremonial practices and renewing the language, art, ecological systems, kinship relations, and political and legal sovereignty.
